Try using Aloe Vera or an Oatmeal Shampoo to relieve the itching associated with your dog's rash. Also, Benadryl can be administered at a dose of 1 mg per pound of body weight twice daily. A prickly rash can be intensely irritating for your dog but it should be resolved in a few days if it is permitted to heal (without further trauma from your dog's attempts to relieve the itch). Keep your dog in a cool indoor location while the rash is being treated. Large pet supply stores, such as Petco, carry hydrocortisone creams and sprays which may be quite helpful for this particular type of rash. There will also be inexpensive E-collars, if needed, to prevent your dog from disturbing the area as it heals.I hope she will experience some relief soon. -PetCaretaker
